Sue Neales is a media professional with more than three decades of feature writing, news reporting, and editing experience in finance, politics, agribusiness, and foreign correspondence for both local and international audiences.

 

As an agricultural scientist and lifelong outback wanderer, Sue’s passion for writing stories about farming, agriculture, and bush life, runs deep.

 

Her portfolio of work boasts an impressive line-up of publications, featured in: The Sydney Morning Herald, The Age, Australian Financial Review, The Australian, Brisbane Times, The Canberra Times, WAtoday, The Weekly Times, and Ground Cover magazine to name a few. She is skilled at developing communication strategies and narratives for agribusiness audiences.

 

Since 2012, Sue has co-organised, The Australian Global Food Forum event, and managed all of the associated editorial production.

 

Sue was recently awarded the 2022 Star Prize for Print by the International Federation of Agricultural Journalists (IFAJ) for “Milk Man,” her profile of dairy farmer Barry Irvin in AgJournal.

50-year relationship with Vietnam supporting trade for Australian agriculture

2023 marks the 50-year anniversary of diplomatic relations between Australia and Vietnam, one of the fastest growing economies in Southeast Asia. This anniversary comes as the two-way agriculture, fisheries and forestry trade between the countries has grown from strength to strength, surpassing $6 billion for the first time in 2022 (ABS 2023).
