Local Startup Showcase: Cameron Leeson - thingc Robotics

thingc Robotics have developed an on-demand workforce made up of fully autonomous, smart field robots.

Interchangeable tools allow the robots to carry out a range of useful farming tasks throughout the season, from organic weeding to autonomous mowing.

By replacing tractor-mounted tools, thingc Robotics’ autonomous robots help address the significant labour challenges experienced by farmers globally, by changing the current paradigm where every machine needs at least one operator. A fleet of thingc robots can be managed by a single operator, carrying out their work consistently over a longer period whilst improving productivity on-farm.

Up to eight successful local (including New Zealand and the Pacific Islands) startup participants will showcase their startup on stage with a 3-minute presentation to the audience showcasing their cutting edge technology relating to the agrifood sector.

Finalists:

  • Luke Wood – Escavox
  • David Lyall – Bee Innovative
  • Lisa Anderson – ThinkBio
  • Cameron Leeson – thingc Robotics
  • Sivam Krish – GoMicro
  • Lewis Collins – BioScout
  • Dan Winson – Zetifi

Facilitated by Brian Ruddle – Impact Innovation.
