Local Startup Showcase: Lewis Collins - BioScout

BioScout allows growers to track and monitor disease in their fields in real-time via disease detection sensors.

BioScout’s sensors collect data allowing growers to gain information on the best intervention and protection practices for their crops based on the location and type of disease detected in their field.

BioScout uses a combination of air sampling, mapping and data analytics to track disease spread, the sensors are placed throughout the field to send crucial data to the disease dashboard and text message alerts direct to the farmer of high threats.

Up to eight successful local (including New Zealand and the Pacific Islands) startup participants will showcase their startup on stage with a 3-minute presentation to the audience showcasing their cutting edge technology relating to the agrifood sector.

Finalists:

  • Luke Wood – Escavox
  • David Lyall – Bee Innovative
  • Lisa Anderson – ThinkBio
  • Cameron Leeson – thingc Robotics
  • Sivam Krish – GoMicro
  • Lewis Collins – BioScout
