In 2019, AgriFutures Australia launched its inaugural evokeAG. event; an unprecedented, large-scale gathering of the boldest and brightest minds across the industry. It heralded the first of its kind in Australia and provided a common platform for the food and agriculture industries to exchange information and share best practices on how technology can and will shape the future.

The 2020 evokeAG. event will position Australia, New Zealand and the Asia Pacific’s agrifood tech industries on the global stage and involve experts and delegates from around the world.

evokeAG. allows delegates to explore what’s next in the agrifood tech space, covering three main themes; Food – Farm – Future. evokeAG. is an immersive experience delivering diverse topics and cutting edge innovation from across the region and around the world. It is the only event of its type where people come together to connect, collaborate and evolve all things agriculture.

evokeAG. is committed to:

  • Drawing delegates from the entire agriculture ecosystem from across the Asia Pacific region and internationally covering: Farmers, startups, innovators, accelerators, researchers, universities, businesses, corporates, government and investors.

Stakeholder Quotes.

Managing Director, AgriFutures Australia, John Harvey

“Agtech adoption across our industry is not happening at the rate it needs to. Opportunities like evokeAG where entrepreneurs are cross-pollinating with producers will help us overcome this challenge.”

“evokeAG. 2019 taught us that we need to build our culture of sharing and collaboration within our agrifood tech ecosystem. We can’t work in silos if we want to elevate our innovation system and become more competitive”

Director, 2040 documentary, Damon Gameau

“We can’t heal our planet without the help of our farmers but this isn’t about demanding action or ridiculing. It’s about instilling the importance that we can’t do this without their buy-in. Many producers are already open to new approaches to improving soil, putting carbon back into the ground, making our food healthier, tastier and more sustainable. It’s going to take a collaborative effort. There are a raft of solutions which we can all be adopting and I hope we can begin to really shine a light on them.”

Founder, Hungry Jacks, Jack Cowin

“Change is guaranteed. We have to shoot for more efficient ways of producing food as a low cost producer that makes Australia internationally competitive. We have to adapt to a changing world versus that’s the way we have always done it.”

WA Farmer, Kelly Pearce

“We need to push the systems that better facilitate in-season decision making. There is a sense of frustration out there as we collect so much data and use this technology every day. We need to better utilise this data on farm and move to more real-time business intelligence. evokeAG. is an opportunity to meet all the players involved in our industry, to unite minds and generate ideas on how we do this.”

Who’s Coming and Why?

To help shape the future of Australia’s food and fibre industries AgriFutures Australia has created

evokeAG. an international agrifood technology event to be held on 19-20 February 2019 in Melbourne to bring the world and Australia’s brightest agriculture and technology minds together.

evokeAG. is different from other events currently happening across Australia because it will:

  • Attract the entire ecosystem: leaders, farmers, startups, innovators, accelerators, researchers,
  • Universities, businesses, corporates, government and investors.
  • Create one location to see what is happening across agrifood tech and related research in Australia, New Zealand and Asia.
  • Create a platform for startups to display their technologies and create deal flow and investment into Australia.
