Using technology to solve consumer concerns is nothing new in the 21st century. But two brothers from Geraldton in Western Australia have taken it to a whole new level, utilising blockchain expertise to track premium Australian food from the farm gate to its final destination in China – and facilitating sustainable, and global consumer interactions.

Food fraud is a multibillion-dollar problem threatening the bottom line and international reputation of Australian agriculture and its exports. Australian-based start-up Zondii is taking on this global challenge with an innovative solution that puts the answers in the palm of your hand.

Nine innovative agritech startups have received over $700,000 in grants collectively through the South Australian Government’s AgTech Growth Fund. Now a collaborative paddock-to-beverage traceability pilot project between Coopers Brewery, Grain Producers South Australia and agritech startup recipient, Trust Provenance is taking off.

The home-grown tool, FarmSimple, designed by software engineers and broadacre farmers in NSW’s Croppa Creek, is empowering producers with full visibility of their data cycle. “We can drive out of the paddock finishing harvest and already have 95% of this benchmarking process done,” said FarmSimple Co-Founder, Lee Coleman.

Australian traceability technology startup, FibreTrace, founded by NSW cotton farmers, Danielle and David Statham, have launched their first-ever carbon positive fashion collection with Nobody Denim.
