Co-Founder Darryl Lyons is a Maiawali man and his ancestors have been practising sustainable and regenerative agriculture for tens of thousands of years. They realised the significance of lightning for food production and developed a system to harness that potential.
Access to clean sources of food will be necessary for the survival of 10 billion people by 2050. However, due to COVID-19, resource shortages, active combat zones, trade wars and other severe climate events, there is already a lack of food security in many nations. The problem is real and it is here already.

The interest in alternative protein sources is predicted to grow into a $290 billion industry by 2035. Mushroom cultivation is booming with thousands of new global startups exploring the uses of Mycoprotein (protein sourced from mushrooms). However, each of these startups need to be more competitive than current animal protein sources.
We need new technologies that do not deplete natural resources or require harsh chemicals such as fertilisers, pesticides, and fungicides. Rainstick™ provides an indoor and outdoor acceleration to nutrient-dense protein production at a
price developing nations can afford.
