Livestock farming is a very labour intensive, high-risk business and farmers cannot be everywhere, all the time. Without close monitoring, animals are lost due to sickness, injury and even theft. There are also many opportunities for farmers to make significant production improvements, but the lack of operational data and restricted labour resources limit their ability to make key management decisions especially around the management of reproductive practices. For example, by constantly monitoring the status of breeding cattle (i.e. heat, pregnancy, calving) there is opportunity to increase weaning rate by 5% which is worth $1.5 Billion a year in Australia alone.

The Smart Paddock platform is a complete end-to-end solution to enable farmers to make these key production decisions. We offer the lowest cost per animal smart tag on the market and an advanced cloud based real-time analytics engine to give insights to the farmer while they are out in the paddock. To create these necessary algorithms Smart Paddock is working with key research organisations to develop the most advanced animal behaviour models to support livestock farmers both in Australia and abroad.

Smart Paddock’s vision is to enable Smart Farming for the global livestock industry be enabling farmers to make practical and relevant decisions based on their own on-farm data sources.
