Eighth Day Foods is an Australian alternative-protein company producing plant based lupin-based protein LURPREME. Made from unprocessed sweet lupins, it’s a rich source of protein, fibre and other nutrients. It can be used to make a variety of meat alternatives making it highly versatile.
By removing the need for complex processing and applying our patented fermentation technology we create a whole, healthy, ready-to-cook protein. The seed-to-final product pathway is all done in one process removing the complexity, risk and cost to the manufacturer, the consumer and to the planet.

Geora
Globally, farmers are under increasing pressure to be more sustainable, efficient and secure. However, much of the time they are without the financial and technical resources to do so. LYRO Robotics
LYRO Robotics is an Australian early-stage company focused on post-harvest packing of fresh fruit and vegetables. We develop, design and deploy robots that solve labour shortages by providing consistent, reliable throughput to packing operations.
Our LR-1 robot can pick up to 1,000 pieces of fruit per hour, equivalent to 40 trays each containing 20 pieces of fruit—roughly the throughput of an experienced human packer.
The difference is that LR-1 will pack for 24 hours straight if fruit is available for packing.

Nanbubble Agritech
Nanobubble Agritech build systems that put extremely high concentrations of oxygen gas into irrigation water, significantly increasing plant growth rate and yield.
Pastoral trials at Massey University showed Nanobubble Agritech’s system delivered double the production compared to conventional irrigation over six months, when retrofitted to an existing pivot irrigator.
With water availability being the key limiting factor to expanding agricultural production globally, this technology has the potential to dramatically increase the world’s food production. A range of commercial scale trials are currently underway and system patents have been lodged.

The Leaf Protein
The Leaf Protein Co. is unlocking Earth’s most abundant source of protein, leaf protein, to solve the lack of biodiversity in the available plant protein ingredient market. We’ve developed technology to extract photosynthetic proteins from the hundreds of thousands of edible plants that have been cultivated for food.
Using this technology, our mission is to build a library of functional leaf protein ingredients that are highly digestible, allergen-free and sustainable, enabling food companies and manufacturers to create the next generation of more nutritious and tastier plant-based foods.

Athena IR Tech
Athena IR-Tech informs farmers if and when their crops need water so they can best optimise irrigation practices.
The Athena IR-Tech Transp-IR solution maximises water use efficiency through proximal, infrared transpiration monitoring and notifies the grower when the crops transpiration rate has dropped below the optimal level for the current growing stage therefore giving the plant only the water it needs to efficiently develop its crop.
Transp-IR leverages years of research about how drought and heat stress impact crop photosynthesis and layers it with a defined optimal irrigation zone for each crop to maximise water use efficiency without compromising yield or quality.

Beewise
Beewise provides robotic beehives to support bees in the face of climate change, allowing for superior pollination and dramatically improved honey yields. The newly designed hives include precision robotics, computer vision and AI. To date, Beewise has saved over 124 million bees with less than 1,000 devices in the field.
Beewise is not changing how beekeeping is done, instead, they are simply applying it in real-time with a robotic arm vs a human one. This offers farmers a superior pollination solution by guaranteeing the delivery of quality pollination on time and at market prices.

CropX
CropX provides an affordable and scalable farm management solution integrating both above and below ground data to optimise resources and results. Our models constantly adapt to the crop’s growth stage and changing environmental conditions to provide crop-specific recommendations.
Planning and reporting tools allow growers to use detailed maps to record, monitor and schedule farm activities from their phone, tablet or computer. With thousands of data points, growers can be alerted to everything from burst pipes and irrigation needs to early-stage field variability and pest risks.

Deep Planet
VineSignal, by Deep Planet, delivers confidence to growers and winemakers to make informed decisions by centralising the key viticultural data points that impact decision making throughout the growing season to harvest planning.

Naio Technologies
Naio Technologies has been delivering agricultural robotic solutions in close collaboration with farmers since 2011. Our robots Oz, Orio, Ted and Jo function autonomously, are versatile and are 100% electric. They cultivate the soil between and under a row as well as being adaptable and carry a wide range of tools.
Weeding robots assist both the environment and people by providing a solution to assist farmers in their daily work, reducing a strenuous physical workload and limiting the use of chemical weedkillers.

Ripe Robotics
Fruit picking is traditionally done entirely by hand which is time-consuming and expensive, and impacted by frequent labour shortages. Human pickers also damage about 5–15% of their harvest, which cuts an apple’s value by a factor of 10. To tackle this, Ripe Robotics design, build and operate robots that pick apples and stone fruit for commercial orchards.
Artificial intelligence has advanced sufficiently to detect and assess outdoor fruit better than humans, making robotic picking finally feasible. Data collected can also be analysed for disease, damage, yield estimates, and much more. Over time the hardware can be upgraded to do pruning, thinning, and precision spraying, leading to fully automated agriculture.

BirdSol Pty Ltd is an innovative global AgTech company with a patented and novel avian deterrent and wildlife management technology based on an integrated AI system called Cherrp®.

Demand Side Instruments
Demand Side Instruments (DSI) provides unique end-to-end IoT solutions for farmers to better manage resource use in the field. We create agronomic tools and mobile apps to help manage resources and attempt to address the consequences of climate change.
Our agro-weather sensors and actuators monitor and control the growth of crops, mainly through management of irrigation. The Aliaterra app is a user-friendly application through which the farmer can monitor different aspects of the land, react appropriately to alerts and anomalies or simply set the system to function in an automation mode.

VetChip
VetChip is a West Australian company dedicated to improving animal health and welfare through pioneering technology, proactive monitoring systems, data analytics, and disease detection.
Founded in 2019 by a highly experienced team of veterinarians and engineers, VetChip was created to fill a market void and solve the issue of being able to detect abnormal health parameters in animals who cannot tell us when they are unwell.
The initial idea came from veterinarian Garnett Hall, who believed animals deserved a better technological solution to health prevention than the current industry standard set by wearable collars and trackers. Along with his brother Maxwell Hall, an equine specialist surgeon, and a team of highly experienced engineers - Ross Khambatta, Zyrus Khambatta, Dilesh Wadia and Pendar Dalili, a partnership was developed to create a fully working prototype - the first of its kind in the world.
Since its inception, the company has grown significantly, garnering industry recognition, media coverage, strategic partnerships, and market validation.

Whole.
The plant-based food market is primed for massive growth but highly functional and natural ingredients are in short supply. Whole. is bringing to market a proprietary technology that enables cost-effective and large-scale production of plant-based ingredients and flavours, including from produce that would otherwise be wasted.
The technology is 100% free from chemical processing, produces no waste and maintains the nutritional value of the original ingredients. Before incorporating the company in 2020, the Whole. founder team spent two years designing, developing and de-risking the underlying technology to the point that it is now ready for commercialisation.

Zetifi
Inadequate internet and phone connectivity remain a significant issue for Australians in rural and remote locations. Zetifi has developed new technology to solve connectivity problems in areas with little or no mobile coverage and is bringing fast and reliable connectivity to farmers that increases productivity, profitability, safety and quality of life.
Zetifi’s patented “sleepy network” technology allows their wireless network infrastructure to hibernate when not in use and only activate when required, saving up to 90% of solar and battery costs and enabling a scalable model for connecting farms and other low population density locations where existing technologies and carriers can’t reach.

Zondii
Zondii unlocks the true value of food and fibre, empowering customers to buy authentic Australian-grown produce and increasing the value of Australian produce. Our technology turns a smartphone into a portable multispectral imaging scanner that captures data within specific wavelength ranges across the electromagnetic spectrum. Paired with Artificial Intelligence, Zondii can detect patterns and unique spectral signatures to classify food and fibre.
The data obtained through this imaging process is analysed by a specific algorithm for each product using our proprietary machine learning and data modelling. Within seconds, previously unknown qualities of the product are identified, such as organic status, origin and freshness.
