Startup Showcase: International Scale-Ups.

Up to five successful international (excluding New Zealand and the Pacific Islands) startup participants will receive the opportunity to address global problems in the agrifood sector and provide a solution through their 3-minute International Scale-ups Showcase

Successful participants will receive accommodation, a travel subsidy of up to AU$1,000.00 for airfares and an evokeAG. two-day delegate ticket. All successful International Scale-Ups Showcase participants will also receive a place in this year’s Startup Alley.

Applications have now closed, our successful finalists will be announced on Monday, 11 November.

 


Eligibility Criteria.

  1. Applicants must be based internationally (excluding New Zealand and Pacific Islands)
  2. Must be a registered business excluding Australia, New Zealand and/or the Pacific Islands (if you are registered in one of these countries you should be applying for the Local Ecosystem Showcase
  3. Applicants must be able to showcase business success to date; must have a product/service; must be ready to solve global problems and look to build their business in Australia
  1. Applicants applying for the International Scale-ups Showcase can also apply to be a part of Startup Alley. Please note, if you are successful in your application for the International Scale-Ups Showcase, you will automatically receive an entry into Startup Alley and will be featured in the Startup Handbook
  2. Application is by company. During your presentation you can have only one representative presenting on stage.

Judging Process & Selection Criteria.

To ensure the quality is of a high standard, we have curated a selection panel from the ecosystem that will review all applications and choose up to five startups whose product is solving global problems in the agrifood sector and is ready to expand their business into the Australian market. There will be no judging component or prizes at the event.

Each application will be scored on the following criteria:

  1. Business is innovative and scalable
  2. Product is solving relevant problems in the agrifood sector
  3. Business is providing a unique solution that has a distinct advantage over competitors and current best practices
  4. Business has a potential global market
  5. Traction (when will the business be available to customers? Leading indicators for success e.g. sales growth, lead customers or otherwise)

 

 

  1. Founder and team have the required expertise and is a balanced team (e.g. 5 = robotics company with robotics research, hardware manufacturing expert and computer vision expert, 2 = One undergraduate mechatronic engineer and three accountants)
  2. Application is clearly communicated
