Nectar uses its data-driven platform to reduce annual hive mortality rate from 40% to 15%. Nectar’s platform enhances the decision-making capacity of commercial beekeepers via its remote monitoring platform and allows beekeepers to quickly tackle hive-related issues and optimize labour/inputs while comparing practices and results.

Nectar also allows beekeepers to share hive health data with their contracted growers in order to optimize their pollination service as well as generate an invaluable pollinator dataset. Nectar has a goal to disrupt conventional agriculture to build a sustainable food system where biodiversity is considered an essential factor to feeding the planet.

Up to five successful international (excluding New Zealand and the Pacific Islands) startup participants will receive the opportunity to address global problems in the agrifood sector and provide a solution through their 3-minute International Scale-ups Showcase.
